Block Ads? Replace Ads?

As both of us are not very familiar with javascript and jQuery, it would be easier for us to start with existed extensions, which work as ad blockers. Searching on Chrome extension store, we find out many popular ad blockers, such as Adblock and Adblock Plus. Adblock works on all websites in the testing; for example, Adblock hides all the ads, which includes video advertisements on Youtube.

However, in our extension - Trace Your Track, we aim to replace the ads with our designs. Adblock can hide ads, but it does not replace the ads. In this stage of research, we found out Ad Replacer, which replaces ads with news, but it is quite unstable in our testing. Therefore, we looked for another extension called Portfolio Banners. It is a Chrome extension that replace the ad with a link, so it provide different ad replacement every time.
